From Baylee Taylor:
My name is Baylee Grace Taylor and I’m a senior at Gulf Shores High School. I currently play Varsity Basketball and Track and Field. I have also been a student athletic trainer for the Varsity Football team for the past 3 years. I am currently Co-captain of the Varsity Basketball team. This year I was named an all-tournament player for UMS Wright’s annual Christmas basketball tournament in Mobile, and MVP of the game at the Gulf Coast Dream Keeper Showcase in Pensacola. Also, I have qualified for the state track competition all 4 years of participating and have set two school records in track – the 400m and 800m. I have maintained a 4.3 GPA, taking honors and AP courses, and also scored a 32 on the ACT. This year I am the Senior Class Vice President, Treasurer of the International Club, and in the National Honor Society. I am inspired by my teammates, coaches, and family because they always support me on anything I do, while pushing me to be my best. Participating in athletics has helped keep me focused on my goals. After high school, I plan on attending Auburn University, majoring in Biomedical Sciences on the Pre-med track. My plan is to go to medical school, and as of now I am very interested in Sports Medicine and Orthopedics.

From Sean Kirby:
I play Varsity Basketball (2 years) and Varsity Soccer (3 years) for GSHS. I also play Beach Volleyball for the Pleasure Island Beach Volleyball Club. As reflected in my attached resume, I have a 4.4/4.0 GP A while taking nine (9) AP classes. On my ACT, I obtained a 35 single-test score with a 36 Superscore. I am currently a Semi-Finalist for the National Merit Scholarship and recently was named the Bryant-Jordan Foundation Class 6A Region 1 ScholarAthlete of the Year. I plan to pursue a degree in Engineering. I have been admitted to Georgia Institute of Technology and I am awaiting an admission decision from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (I interviewed with MIT last week). My role model is my older sister, Megan, who was nominated for this same award three years ago. She set a high bar and showed me that it was possible to play sports, be involved in school and succeed academically.
